Executive Board

Richard Anning FRICS
Chief Executive
Former Member of the General Council of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, Richard Anning has been active in the property industry for over 40 years. Appointed as Property Director in 1988 and subsequently Chief Executive in 1996, he has been responsible for leading the company’s property programme in the UK, Europe and the Middle East, ensuring a consistency of management approach. Richard Anning is a former Governor of Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Simon Childs FCCA
Finance Director
Simon Childs was appointed as Finance Director in 1996. He has been involved in commercial property for over 27 years, working with Olympic & York Developments Limited during the development of Canary Wharf and prior to that with Slough Estates Plc. Simon Childs is responsible for all aspects of Group finance.

Katharine Collyer
Company Secretary
Katharine Collyer joined Sydney & London in 2005. Prior to this, she worked for 6 years in the Paris office of Arthur Andersen (latterly BearingPoint) as Resource Manager for the Business Consultancy division. As Company Secretary of the Sydney & London Properties group, Katharine has day to day responsibility for all HR and administrative matters.

Supervisory Board

Hervé de Carmoy
Chairman of Supervisory Board
Hervé de Carmoy was appointed to the Board in 1992. A French national, his career encompasses several directorships in International Banking and Private Equity. Formerly Chief Executive at Midland Bank UK and Chairman of Thomas Cook, Hervé de Carmoy went on to become Chairman and Chief Executive of BIMP, a French bank specialised in Real Estate; Managing Director of Rhone group, a US Private Equity firm; Chairman of Almatis, a world leader in the alumina industry and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Etam (pret a porter). Current roles include Chairman of Meridiam Advisory Committee (public/private financing of infrastructure projects in Europe/USA).

Wendy Curtis
Non-Executive Director
Wendy Curtis has been with the Company since its foundation in 1987. As Company Secretary and Director for more than 20 years, Wendy had a pivotal role in the creation and management of the business until her retirement in July 2009, when she was appointed to the Supervisory Board. Prior to her career with Sydney & London, Wendy was Managing Director of a large property based insurance brokerage and Company Secretary of a range of property companies. Wendy is Director and Company Secretary of Imaging Essence Limited, a photographic / marketing agency, and is an active supporter of Dartmouth Caring, a registered charity.

Alan Jenkins
Non-Executive Director
Alan Jenkins joined the Board in February 2011. Former Chairman of Eversheds LLP until 2010 and of Eversheds International until 2009, he has practised in the fields of commercial litigation, international arbitration and professional negligence and advised on many high profile cases, dealing with government agencies and state owned bodies around the world. Current roles include Chairman of Mencap Trust Company Limited; Non Executive Director of the Financial Ombudsman Service; and Non Executive Member of the Board of the Pension Protection Fund.
