Hervé de Carmoy
Chairman

Hervé de Carmoy was appointed to the Board in 1992. A French national, his career encompasses several directorships in International Banking and Private Equity.

Formerly Chief Executive at Midland Bank UK and Chairman of Thomas Cook, Hervé de Carmoy went on to become Chairman and Chief Executive of BIMP, a French bank specialised in Real Estate; Managing Director of Rhone group, a US Private Equity firm; and subsequently Chairman of Almatis, a world leader in the alumina industry.

Current roles include Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Etam (pret a porter) and Chairman of Meridiam Advisory Committee (public/private financing of infrastructure projects in Europe/USA).

Chantal Gautier

Chantal Gautier, a French national, joined the Board of Sydney & London Properties in 2005 when she retired from her position as General Manager of Aareal Bank France. She has an impressive career spanning three decades in International banking and International Real Estate financing.

Former positions include First Vice President in charge of the Real Estate Financing Division and Australian / New Zealand Division of the International Department of Banque Indosuez as well as Director and First Member of the Credit Committee of Aareal Bank France.

Wendy Curtis

Wendy Curtis has been with the Company since its foundation in 1987. As Company Secretary and Director for more than 20 years, Wendy had a pivotal role in the creation and management of the business until her retirement in July 2009, when she was appointed to the Supervisory Board.

Prior to her career with Sydney & London, Wendy was Managing Director of a large property based insurance brokerage and Company Secretary of a range of property companies.

Current roles include Trustee of Dartmouth Caring, a registered charity and Company Secretary of Imaging Essence Ltd, a photographic/marketing agency.

Alan Jenkins

Alan Jenkins joined the Board in February 2011. Former Chairman of Eversheds LLP until 2010 and of Eversheds International until 2009, he has practised in the fields of commercial litigation, international arbitration and professional negligence and advised on many high profile cases, dealing with government agencies and state owned bodies around the world.

Current roles include Chairman of Eversheds LLP Global Markets Group; Non-Executive Director on the Board of UK Trade and Investment and Chairman of its Audit Committee; Chairman of Mencap Trust Company Limited and of Lattitude Global Volunteering Limited; Vice Chairman of the boards of trustees of the International Institute for Environment and Development and of the Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development.

Alan Jenkins is also on the Council for the Institute of Directors and a fellow of the Royal Society for the Arts. He has recently been appointed a director of the Financial Ombudsman Service.
